Solana Beach, Calif., October 28, 2013- Marineke Vandervort, Director of Human Resources and a 22 year veteran of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, has been named the 2013 Administrative Staff of the Year by Pacific Region of the Professional Association (TPA) of the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA). Ms. Vandervort attended the TPA Awards Ceremony in Reno, NV to receive the award as part of the BGCA Pacific Leadership Conference from October 15-18, 2013.
The mission of TPA is to serve as the voice of all Boys & Girls Club career professionals throughout the Boys & Girls Club Movement. Each year, TPA recognizes and awards four outstanding individuals in each region of the country who make differences in the Movement. The four award categories include Contribution to the Profession, Executive of the Year, Professional of the Year and Administrative Staff of the Year Award. The Award winners go on to represent the Pacific Region on a national level at the Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Meeting to be held May 1-3, 2014 in San Francisco, CA.

Outside of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, Marineke volunteers for Mama’s Kitchen providing meals to others in need. Additionally, in the past two years, Marineke has focused her time and efforts on achieving completion in three important educational certifications including Brandman University and Non Profit Management Solutions certificate in Nonprofit Management and Supervisory Skills, as well as the Harvard Business School Not for Profit Business Management Program.
